Rules for All Divisions

1. Rubber/plastic spikes may be worn. No metal spikes.

2. Players will not be allowed to wear jewelry with the exception of jewelry worn for medical reasons.

3. If a batter throws her bat, a team warning will be given. Any batter who throws her bat in a non-sportsmanlike manner will be declared out without warning and may be removed from the game at the umpire’s discretion.

4. Managers are responsible for the conduct of the players, coaches, followers, and parents of the team. Any unsportsmanlike conduct in a year by a manager will result in suspension of manager. A coach will take over the team.

5. In the event a manager or coach does not show up for a game, a parent or any active member may manage the team for that game.

6. When an umpire removes a player, manager, coach, or parent from a game, he/she must leave the park and not return during the game. Failure to comply will result in forfeiture of the game. Anyone removed from 2 games in one season will receive a mandatory suspension for remainder of the year.

7. Catchers must wear chest protectors, mask, throat protector, a helmet, and shin guards in all games and at all practices when catching behind home plate. Coaches must warm-up a pitcher.

8. A designated runner may be put in for the catcher when there are two outs. The runner will be the batter who made the second out.

9. Any girl remaining on her feet and crashing into a fielder with a ball rather than sliding will be declared out and the ball will be dead. If the crash by the runner is with great force and deemed deliberate, the umpire can remove the runner from the game for unsportsmanlike conduct.

10. A team shall consist of ten players (Soph/Deb 9 players), but a game can be played with 8. If the tenth (Soph/Deb 9th) players show up before the bottom of the fourth inning begins (inning begins with the first pitch) she may enter the game immediately and bat last. Any player arriving after the bottom of the 4th inning begins will not be allowed to play in that game and will be listed on the score sheet as arriving late.

11. A girl must play a minimum of 3 full innings (top and bottom constitutes one full inning) and may not sit out consecutive innings. The three inning rule will not be in effect for games shortened by darkness or weather or for games called by the umpire. Failure to comply with the rule will result in forfeiture of the game.

12. No manager or coach is allowed behind the backstop. First offense—team warning; Second offence—removal from the park.

13. Any infractions/interpretations of the rules cited during the game will be discussed by the umpires with the manager/coach. The umpire will send any 2nd party away from the discussion/.

14. If there is a play at the base, as the runner approaches it, that runner must slide to avoid contact with the fielder. Failure may result in being called out by the umpire.

15. Division Commissioner will call the games due to weather. It is the Home team’s responsibility to contact the Division Commissioner, Visiting team, and Greg Moss to request a time to reschedule the date and time of the game.
