The President, Vice- President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Player Representative offices are to be two year terms.
No elected official shall serve more than four consecutive years in the same office.
All elected officials should attend all meetings.
Duration of appointed offices will be specified at the time of appointment.
Officials may only hold one elected office and one appointed office at the same time.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES OF OFFICIALS
PRESIDENT
1. Have a minimum of 3 consecutive years,
including current year, of good standing in the
League.
2. May be a manager, coach, or official.
3. Preside at all monthly meetings.
4. Set agenda for meetings.
5. Advise Commissioners.
6. Schedule registration.
7. Review all protests with Protest Board.
8. Preside at Protest Meeting.
9. Solicit personnel for League functions.
10. Must notify Commissioner, umpire, and opposing
manager of any suspensions, forfeits, or protests.
VICE PRESIDENT
1. Have a minimum of 2 consecutive
years, including current year, of good
standing in the league.
2. May be a manager, coach, or official.
3. Perform the Presidential duties when
President is unavailable.
4. Purchase, distribute, and inventory all equipment
including uniforms. Set up a date for pick-up of
equipment and uniforms for entire League.
5. Assist President in performing duties.
TREASURER
1. Must be a current member in good standing.
2. May be a manager, coach, or official.
3. Maintain records of expenses and
income.
4. Receive all monies and fees for deposit.
5. Prepare monthly statements for general
meetings to include all monies received
and will include a breakdown by
function, team and/or managers.
6. Issue check for League’s expenses, which will be
cosigned by the President or Vice- President.
7. Prepare a yearly statement for annual report.
8. Must file a tax return every year. A
copy of which must be submitted to the
President prior to April 1st of that year.
SECRETARY
1. Must be a current member in good standing.
2. May be a manager, coach, or official.
3. Keep records and prepare minutes of all
general meetings.
4. Mail all official notifications.
5. Take roll at all general meetings.
PLAYER REPRESENTATIVE
1. Have a minimum of 3 consecutive years,
including current year, of good standing in
the League.
2. May be a manager, coach, or official.
3. Represent all players from all divisions.
4. Be responsible for all rosters, registration cards,
birth certificates, and other player forms.
5. Certify eligibility of players.
6. Oversee draft.
7. Represent players when benched or suspended.
8. Attend protests involving players.
DIVISION COMMISSIONER
1. Must be a current member in good standing.
2. May be a manager, coach, or official.
3. Should have knowledge of or current experience
in division in which he/she is appointed.
4. Be present at draft for division.
5. Pass out all information sheets to division.
6. Call the games due to inclement weather
conditions.
7. Collect all scores and keep standings.
8. Seed teams for playoffs.
9. Assist with division tournament.
10. Attend all Protest Meetings.
UMPIRE IN CHIEF
1. Have a minimum of 1 year of good standing.
2. May be a manager, coach, or official.
3. Roster and schedule all umpires.
4. Hold Rules Meeting/Clinic with umpires.
5. Review protests which involve umpires.
6. Reschedule all make-up games.
7. Monitor approved pay schedule for all divisions.
TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR
1. Have a minimum of 1 year of good standing.
2. May be a manager, coach, or official.
3. Receive and present schedule of all tournaments.
4. Help locate appropriate tournaments.
5. Keep track of tournament equipment and uniforms.
DEFINITIONS OF TERMS AND PHRASES
Active Member
– is currently participating in EPGSL.
Member in Good Standing
– a member, who has a minimum of 1 year service, has no probation/suspension during the prior year and has had representation at every meeting.
Rostered Player
– players who register and paid fees, are listed on team roster and signed the team roster.
Probation
– penalty when an infraction or violation is deemed not severe enough or flagrant enough to warrant suspension. While on probation, a member may continue in regular capacity with no restrictions unless imposed at the start of probation. Probation is a specified amount of time determined by the League officials.
Suspension
– when dictated by the rules or when an infraction is deemed severe. While on suspension, member may not actively participate as manager or coach of games played by his/her team. If this occurs, the game is forfeited. Member may not attend any League meeting not participate in League functions. They will not be eligible for any awards. Time of suspension will be determined by League’s officials. Note: It is to be understood that a 1 year suspension will be for 12 months from the date of suspension.
Immediate Family Member
– is a daughter, sister, step-daughter, or step-sister.
